Eleanor Watches Downton Abbey!

Anachronism in Downton Abbey

What? you may say. How can that be? Eleanor lives in 1272, and there most certainly were no televisions then. Authors, however, have fun jumping from time period to time period. It usually causes no problems, but, sometimes, it is a bit disconcerting to go from saddling up the horses for a hunt with the falcons to going into the kitchen and using the microwave and dishwasher. Fortunately, however, the hygiene in the present far outpaces that of 1272 — I shudder to think! Take a look at the picture above — can you spot the anachronism? Someone was having difficulty jumping from time period to time period! Let me know if you see it!

Back to Downton Abbey — I trust, dear readers, you are awaiting the new season as eagerly as I? To get you back up to speed, here is a trivia quiz for you:
Let me know how you do!

  1. Oh my goodness, I totally missed the water bottle at first! Too funny! I haven’t watched much Downton, but everyone I know loves it. I think I’ll need to catch up!
